Hypogonadism
Primary hypogonadism, also known as primary testicular failure, is caused by a problem in the testicles. These problems can include an injury, Klinefelter syndrome, and undescended testicles. Secondary hypogonadism is caused by a problem with the pituitary or hypothalamus glands. These glands give a signal to make testosterone so testosterone production can be affected.
PCOS/Metabolic Syndrome
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous disorder, where the main symptoms include menstrual irregularities, sub-fertility, hyperandrogenism, and hirsutism. Metabolic syndrome is a constellation of metabolic disorders, which include mainly abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, impaired glucose metabolism, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.
Hyperlipidemia/Dyslipidemia
Hyperlipidemia refers to high levels of LDL or triglycerides in your blood. Hyperlipidemia is treatable, but it’s often a life-long condition. Dyslipidemia refers to unhealthy levels of one or more kinds of lipid (fat) in your blood. Dyslipidemia may not have obvious symptoms; however, it can lead to cardiovascular disease, which can be symptomatic.
Gland Disorders
The hormones of the pituitary gland help regulate the functions of other endocrine glands. Pituitary tumors disrupt the gland’s normal ability to release hormones. The adrenal glands have a multi-function role in the endocrine system. The most common disorders and diseases include Addison’s disease, adrenal cancer, Cushing’s syndrome, congenital adrenal and hyperplasia.
